Charo Toledo, writer for Hulu series: Online platforms offer greater freedom to touch on subjects relevant to young people such as sex

Charo Toledo, Puerto Rican writer based out of Los Angeles, is one the writers of the successful Hulu series East Los High, already in its third season. The English-language series tells the story of a group of Latino youngsters in Los Angeles.Represented by Luis Medina’s Uno Productions, Toledo is available for both the general and Hispanic markets.In an interview from Toledo’s office at the Hollywood Production Center in Los Angeles, she said writing for online platforms offered greater freedom to deal with subjects such as sex, as opposed to writing for traditional broadcast networks.
