The new original film by ViX and the first by Ventanarosa for this platform, Quiero tu Vida, premiered on May 3, and PRODU visited one of the locations and spoke with its director Jorge Colón, the camera director Beto Casillas and the actor Erick Elías. All three agreed that this was one of the most challenging productions they’ve done, having to tell a story immersed in three worlds, in which the protagonist travels from one to another in order to fulfill his dream of being a soccer player.

“We are working, at least, on three different worlds; the production design and image of the actors and creating the strategy to handle this was quite challenging, but that’s what pre-production is for and we had great help from the wardrobe department, makeup, to get on the same page on how to make the actors look radically different, and so we had to film world by world” Colón mentioned.

For the actor, Erik Elías is a story that also addresses fantasy, where “my character wants so much something that he doesn’t have and when he finally has it, he values what he had before. The soccer theme was also a great challenge for me because it had many complicated scenes.”

Beto Casillas, director of photography, explained that to achieve one of the scenes in which the central character suffers an accident, they had to resort to tools to create rain, “in addition to requiring a crane called Scorpio, and towers to make it rain and stones, nothing innovative, but very good technology.”

Quiero tu Vida stars Erik Elías, Zuria Vega and Bárbara de Regil, and is the story of Nico, a young soccer star whose promising career comes to a sudden end when he suffers a devastating injury. Eight years later, Nico is bitter, still fantasizing about what his life could have been. When magically the universe gives him the chance to lead the life he’s always dreamed of, Nico realizes that fame and glory can be tricky, and sometimes happiness comes in the most unexpected ways.

It is produced by Salma Hayek Pinault and José Tamez under the Ventanarosa Productions brand together with Jorge García Castro. It is directed by Jorge Colón and is based on a script by Tamez and García Castro.
