In a press conference in the context of Jornadas, Sergio Veiga, senior VP and general manager of FOX Networks Group, Cono Sur, commented how well the company did in 2017 and highlighted that one of the most important events was the launch of FOX Sports Premium, channel that airs the games of the local tournament (now called Superliga) and special related programming.
For his part, Hernán Donnari, EVP at FOX Sports Latin America, mentioned that UFC returned to FOX Sports and that this comeback was well received by the audience.
Currently, the company produces 25,000 hours a year in sports, fiction and factual, and they have productions from Mexico Colombia, Chile, and Argentina.
As for film and series channels, Gabriela Gil, SVP of Basic Channels’ Films and Series Programming, highlighted that they relaunched the premium package, which currently has seven channels that are well positioned and announced that they are preparing the second season of Run Coyote Run for FX. In the case of FOX, they will launch a new version of the police series Swat and The Gifted.
Additionally, Santiago De Carólis, senior Marketing VP at National Geographic Partners Latin America, said the company made a team dedicated exclusively to this brand, which recently launched the children’s channel Nat Geo Kids.
He added that the idea is to also lower the target of Nat Geo and for that, they plan to launch several original productions, aimed at young adults ages 25 to 35.
