
Roberto Rios HBO
HBO announced six new titles that will be produced in Brazil with distribution for Latin America and the Caribbean. Three are originals in development: Área de Serviço, O Amor Segundo Buenos Aires, and O Beijo Adolescente. The other three are co-productions with Ancine, the National Cinema Agency of Brazil.
“In these last few months, we were working together with production companies in the development of new content, to take even more original and innovative stories to audiences worldwide,” explains Roberto Rios, Corporate VP of Original Productions at HBO Latin America. “Our content is very well received internationally and our productions were also included in the new HBO Max platform in the US”.
Área de Serviço, a comedy created and written by Pedro Cardoso and Graziella Moretto, presents the relation between different social classes. O Amor Segundo Buenos Aires, a drama based on the homonymous book by the Brazilian journalist Fernando Scheller, who is also on the scriptwriting team. O Beijo Adolescente, fantasy series born from the graphic novels by Rafael Coutinho, who participates in the adaptation as a consultant.
The three documentary co-productions are in different production stages: Odilon, Réu de Si Mesmo, co-produced with Mymama Entertainment, is about the Brazilian judicial system; Coisa de Menino, co-produced with Producing Partners, is about male chauvinism and boys` education; and Bobiography, the story of the skater Bob Burnquist. It is co.-produced with Goma Filmes and Vetor Filmes.
With resources from Condecine, the co-productions will be distributed exclusively on HBO Latin America.
