Iberoamerican Film Festival Miami: There is no festival in Spanish like this on the East Coast

Fernando Arciniega, founder, and executive director; and Brandon del Toro, director of Operations, of the Iberoamerican Film Festival Miami (IAFFM) is presenting the fifth edition of the event at the Kidscreen Summit. This time the film festival features Argentina as its guest country and will include a day dedicated to the industry.

The festival will take place between November 8 and 13 at the Silverspot downtown.

This edition of the IAFFM includes a sample of 70 titles between shorts, documentaries, fiction, and animation. They expect an attendance of 8,000 to 10,000 during the six days of the festival.

“This year we are showcasing Argentine cinema, with directors and producers from Argentina as or guests. We are also trying to do a bit of industry. We are going to have workshops within the Animation Festival supported by iKartoons Animation. While Egeda Mexico, Egeda Colombia and Egeda Argentina are going to bring their producers” Arciniega explained.

He said that they are promoting the participation of 22 Latin American countries and the US Hispanic.

“We are doing a strong campaign throughout Latin America and we hope to have a good turnout. Miami is a very important, strategic point, where it is easier for people from Spain, Portugal, the rest of the US, and Latin America to meet than in Europe or having to go to Argentina. There is no festival on the east coast of the US that has a market like the one we want to reach and in Spanish. It’s very nice” he concluded.
