Star+, the new streaming service owned by Disney, was launched in Latin America on August 31st, and the day before, during the official announcement, the executives of Disney said that the service is intended for an older audience than Disney +, but assured that one is the perfect complement to the other.
Natalia Scalia, Direct to Consumer leader, Disney Latin America, led the announcement, officially launching the Star+ platform in the region, which had been the subject of great controversy due to legal conflicts, which were resolved on time.
“This platform, aimed at a more adult audience, is independent but complementary to Disney+, with original content from our own companies such as ABC, FX, Searchlight, 20th Century Studio, and 20th Television, as well as others that are massively producing for Star+,” Scalia said.
After a video showing the OTT, Scalia explained that Star + is designed over the same streaming platform as Disney+, but with some changes in style, and with a sports tab with the ESPN+ offer, the great differentiating element with the competition.
