From January 1, John Rossiter will take on the expanded role as EVP, Distribution and Networks, Latin America, reporting to Steven O’Dell, President International Distribution for SPE’s motion picture group, and Mike Wald, EVP International Distribution and Networks, SPE.

Rossiter will now oversee the Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) businesses of theatrical and television distribution, media networks and home entertainment across all of Latin America.

In addition to his theatrical distribution duties, Rossiter is taking over the SPT responsibilities previously held by Alexander Marin who left the company this past summer. He plans to relocate to Miami next year.

Most recently, Rossiter has served as EVP Distribution and Networks for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Sony Pictures Television (SPT). In this role, he has been responsible for television and home entertainment businesses and managing SPT-owned networks in the region.

Rossiter first joined Sony Pictures in 2000 as a director of business development and finance.

In 2004, he joined HBO where he worked for seven years as SVP of Sales, Operations and Business Development. Notably, Rossiter was responsible for expanding HBO into five additional countries as well as launching the Cinemax and HBO Go businesses lines that contributed to double digit revenue growth during his tenure. He returned to Sony Pictures in 2011 to run the networks business in Central Europe.

Rossiter began his broadcast career as a senior financial analyst at Walt Disney Television International.
