In the past few days, SUR LLC channels SUR Perú and TV Venezuela added new markets in Florida and Georgia through Comcast. PRODU spoke to Nury Quevedo, director of Marketing of SUR LLC, who said that in the coming months the company will announce more territories. The addition of the new Comcast markets gives each channel 500 thousand new subscribers.“Comcast plans to increase coverage for these channels. They told us it the change would be nationwide. Florida is first because we have a high concentration of Peruvians and Venezuelans that were not getting the channels. To get them, the customer has to subscribe to Comcast’s Xfinity Latino package,” said Quevedo. The executive said SUR Perú does not foresee changes in programming because the channel is well received. “We have five of the top 10 national shows of Peru,” added Quevedo.“For TV Venezuela, entering Florida is important because the highest concentration of Venezuelans in the U.S. are in South Florida and we want to grow our audience. People who leave Venezuela want to stay informed,” she added.Quevedo said TV Venezuela, may have some programming changes depending on the results of the presidential elections on April 14th. The channel is contemplating adding more entertainment and reducing the load of Globovisión programming if the channel is taken over by the government.
