After the success of the animated series El Chavo, with eight seasons and 135 episodes on the air, and presence in multiple platforms, Televisa is already working with Ánima Estudios on the first season of El Chapulín Animado (52×11’), to premiere first quarter of 2015.In an interview with PRODU, Maca Rotter, general director of Televisa Consumers Products, said that El Chavo Animado gave them the experience with animated products and, thanks to it, the company is ready to take to multiple platforms the first season of El Chapulín Animado.“We have faith in this product because El Chavo already paved the road. We broke the barrier of changing platforms and reached new generations with eight seasons and 135 episodes. It was something no one thought possible and this reaffirms this character as the biggest and most important brand of Televisa around the world. Now we’re focused on El Chapulín, which doesn’t yet have a premiere date, but we know it will happen in the first quarter of 2015,” said Rotter. She said that despite not yet being on the air, this first season already have several offers abroad, but in Mexico it will air on Televisa Channel 5 and later on pay-TV.Finally, Rotter said the success of these characters has transcended the region, “due to what Roberto Gómez Bolaños ‘Chespirito’ is able to communicate through each of them.”
