Producer Rosy Ocampo began recording in Mexico City the fifth installment of the Vencer saga, Vencer la Culpa for TelevisaUnivision, an 80-episode telenovela. For the first time, the concept will include male characters in leading roles, without leaving aside issues such as violence and women’s disappearance. It will premiere on June 26 at 8:30pm on Las Estrellas.

“In addition to our four main lines, one of the main challenges is that we have the male lines because guilt is something we live with. The basic issue is guilt, but we also have violence against women and a plot that includes women’s disappearance, one of the issues that we deal with daily, but all from a very bright point of view,” commented Ocampo just before the beginning of the shooting.

She highlighted that one of the challenges regarding projects with social issues is the way “in which we face these problems from a solution approach and its alternatives, in addition to having white and black characters that are neither good nor bad.

Ocampo added that they are filming at locations in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and in the US, as in previous installments, “where we will have some characters that are somehow intertwined. We like urban areas because most of the conflicts are found in all small, medium, or large cities.”

In Vencer la Culpa, the stellar female roles will be played by Claudia Martín, María Sorté, Gabriela de la Garza, and Romina Poza.

It is the story of four women of different ages and socioeconomic strata, who join destinies as a result of the disappearance of a mysterious young woman. In the process to find her, secrets will be disclosed linking and leading them to overcome the guilt they carry on their shoulders.
