This Is Happening Productions shots La Cura

Danay García, actress, producer, and director of Cuban origin, and Leandro Arvelo, Venezuelan actor, producer, and director, founded This Is Happening Productions, a production company that has its debut with the short film La Cura, which had screenings in different international festivals, such as the Baja California International Film Festival and now at the Yofi Fest in New York.

La Cura was shot in Baja California, Mexico: “It is about moral and challenges human beings in times of emergencies,” explained García. “With This Is Happening Productions we want to tell current, social stories based on true facts, that resonate in modern times. We relate the stories with a cause. We are interested in the social topic, and see it as our contribution,” added Arvelo.

This Is Happening Productions´ plans include making more short films, movies, and series among the US and LatAm. La Cura tells the story of a town in Mexico that starts to feel the effects of a disease that spreads through the region, forcing the pastor of the town to rethink his faith and make an ethical decision that will affect the lives of each one of the inhabitants of that place.
