Univision announces sponsors joining music-based reality-competition show La Banda

Univision Communications Inc. announced Verizon, Toyota, Walmart, Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania 2, Taco Bell, Cheerios and Yoplait as official sponsors for the premiere season of the music-based reality-competition show La Banda. A production developed by Univision Communications Inc., Simon Cowell’s SYCO Entertainment and Haim Saban’s Saban Brands and co-produced with FremantleMedia Latin America, La Banda is set to premiere on the Univision Network on Sunday, September 13th at 8pm ET/PT (7pm CT) and will feature brand partners in unique in-show, digital and branded content integrations. “La Banda is unlike any other program on television today. Together with our partners and sponsors, we’re excited to feature unique branded content integrations that will raise the bar in music entertainment across TV and digital,” said Keith Turner, president of Advertising Sales and Marketing, Univision Communications Inc.La Banda is a new take on the singing competition show format that will search the U.S. and Puerto Rico to put together the ultimate Latino super group. Representing all Hispanic cultures, contestants will compete for their place in La Banda and for a coveted recording contract with Sony Music Latin, label home to the most prolific Latin music artists, and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Music, the recording label responsible for some of the world’s biggest selling artists, including One Direction. Ricky Martin will manage the winning band. La Banda is executive produced by Simon Cowell and Ricky Martin, who also serves as a judge alongside Laura Pausini and Alejandro Sanz, and is hosted by Alejandra Espinoza. Additional producers include: Kelly Belldegrun (SYCO Entertainment), Nigel Hall (SYCO Entertainment), Gert Verpeet (FremantleMedia Latin America), Treicy Benavides (FremantleMedia Latin America), Cisco Suárez (Univision Network) and Macarena Moreno (Univision Network).
