Cannes Lions opens registration and announces news

Since last November 22nd, the inscriptions are open to the International Festival of Creativity, Cannes Lions, and with this news, also new significant changes are revealed.Cannes Lions announces a new category called Creative Data Lions; created in response to the industry’s demand to establish an innovative point of reference.The Festival’s CEO Philip Thomas, said: “We are committed to being pioneers in the industry, which means reflecting the trends.” He added: “The Creative Data Lions is a summary of these principles. The insights obtained from data are a powerful tool for creative solutions, then it is a must that they are recognized and honored at the festival. But we are the first global awards to do so, which means that we are also defending the role data can occupy in creativity.”This category includes 11 subcategories. Other changes that will take place this year is the fact that the Lions Innovation contains two subcategories: Creative Innovation and Innovation Technology; both to celebrate the ideas of independent brands and technology solutions.Since creativity is tested long term, Creative Effectiveness Lions will choose pieces and winners from the shortlist from the pieces created with a maximum of three years.
