Garage Films is a production house better known by its business growth. Fermín Villanova, the company’s executive producer, was born in Spain, and together with his team, has been successful playing in different markets. “Spain is a country with different geographies, each of them distinguished by culture, language, economic environment, so we have experience in producing spots adapted to the communication codes of these segments” Vilanova said to PRODU. “It has been a road of trial and error where we have learned greatly in terms of communicating effectively in accordance to the codes of each of these groups”. This experience has worked for the US Hispanic market. For Vilanova, “one of the most important challenges for production houses and agencies is to understand this market as a group of communities with their own attributes but in constant change, and offer audiovisual creativity that promotes engagement with each of these groups”. What encourages Garage Films the most about the North American market is the production experience. “The U.S. has the best production professionals and our distinctiveness is our directors’ talent. This combination provides great quality and enjoyment in our projects” he said. So far, they have developed some branded content projects allowing them to spawn their directors’ creativity and provide the best talent, as they have become part of the process from its creative conception. “The boost of platforms provides a huge opportunity of more attractive branded content pieces”.
