San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro to give inaugural address at 2013 AHAA Conference

The Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies, or AHAA, announced that San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro will deliver the inaugural address on Tuesday, April 30 at 9:00 p.m. at the 2013 AHAA Conference, being held in collaboration with FIAP (the Ibero-American Advertising Festival) and Circulo Creativo.During his speech he will analyze the importance of the Hispanic vote, as well as the importance of this segment in politics and business.The inaugural address will be followed by a head-to-head session entitled Red vs. Blue Approaches to the Hispanic Market,” at which representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties will discuss platforms and strategies for winning the Hispanic vote.Mayor Castro is considered one of the most influential Latinos in politics today. During his time as mayor, he has concentrated on attracting well-paid jobs in industries of the 21st century, positioning San Antonio as a leader in the new energy economy and boosting educational attainment across the board.In 2010, Castro joined executives of Google and Twitter in being named to the list of Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum.
