Apple TV+ presented several series, a comedy and the documentary They Call me Magic at the TCA Winter 2022 Tour Day

Nuevas producciones de Apple TV Plus

At the TCA Winter 2022 Tour Day, Apple TV+ presented five series and a documentary: the drama The last days of Ptolemy Grey; the thriller series Shining Girls; WeCrashed; Severance; the comedy The Afterparty, and the documentary They call me Magic.

The presentation also included the previews of the espionage series, Slow Horses, starring Gary Oldman, which will premiere worldwide on Friday, April 1 on Apple TV+; of the second season of Dear…, which debuts on Friday, March 4, and of the female-led anthology series, Roar, which premieres on Friday, April 15.

The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray (6×60′), which premieres worldwide on Friday, March 11 with its first two episodes, is an Apple Studios production, starring Samuel L. Jackson as Ptolemy Grey, a sick man forgotten by his family, friends, and even himself. The series is produced by Jackson alongside author Walter Mosley, who adapted the screenplay from the novel of the same name. It is executive produced by Mosley’s producing partner Diane Houslin, Ramin Bahrani, Eli Selden, and David Levine for Anonymous Content and LaTanya Richardson.

During the panel presentation, Jackson, who was joined by Mosley and actress Dominique Fishback, said that he had prepared many years for this role, which is his first leading role for a TV series and in which he had many close experiences with Alzheimer’s. “I live with a family where I am surrounded by relatives with Alzheimer’s. Being able to tell their story, that it is good to preserve memories, and that people see you as someone that matters,” he said.

The metaphysical drama Shining Girls (8×60′), will make its worldwide debut on Friday, April 29. Hailing from MRC Television, the thriller stars and is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning actress Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale, Mad Men). Adapted for television by showrunner Silka Luisa, the eight-episode series will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes, followed by one new episode weekly every Friday. Moss stars, directs and executive produces through Love and Squalor Pictures, alongside Lindsey McManus. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, and Michael Hampton executive produce through Appian Way. MacLaren directs and executive produces with Rebecca Hobbs for MacLaren Entertainment. Daina Reid directs and executive produces. Author Beukes and Alan Page Arriaga also serve as executive producers.

WeCrashed (8×60’), starring Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway, new limited series from Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello, based on Wondery podcast “WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork”. The series is inspired by actual events — and the love story at the center of it all. will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes on March 18, followed by new weekly installments each Friday during its eight-episode season through April 22.

The suspense series Severance (9×60’), starring Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus, and Christopher Walken; from director/executive producer Ben Stiller and creator Dan Erickson. It premieres worldwide on February 18 with the first two episodes.

The documentary They Call Me Magic (4×60’) offers a holistic and illuminating look at the life and career of Earvin “Magic” Johnson, it will be released on April 22.
