Atrescine dedicates their March programming to the cycle Españoles En Los Óscar

Few days before the 90th ceremony of the Academy Awards in Los Angeles, Atrescine will dedicate its March programming to actors, actresses and Spanish directors who have been honored with the accolade.
Every Friday in the month of March, the signal will broadcast the cycle Españoles en Los Óscar starting on Friday, March 2nd with Perdita Durango (1997), starring Javier Bardem, the first Spanish actor to win an Oscar as best supporting actor for his role as the ruthless murderer in No Country For Old Men. A week later, Secretos Del Corazón (1997) written and directed by Montxo Armendáriz, and nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
Friday, March 16, they will air You’re The One (2000), directed by José Luis Garcí, who in 1983 won the first Oscar for a Spanish production as Best Foreign Language Film for Volver a Empezar.
The following one is La Niña De Tus Ojos (1998) with Penélope Cruz, winner of the gold statuette as Best Supporting Actress in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Matador (1986) closes the cycle the last Friday of the month, March 30th. Directed by Pedro Almodóvar, who has represented Spain on six occasions and in the year 2000 won in the category Best Foreign film for Best Foreign Language Film for Todo Sobre Mi Madre, starring Antonio Banderas, a predecessor of Penélope Cruz’ and Javier Bardem’s international take off.
