Atresmedia Televisión continues strengthening its catalogue with products such as the series Mar de Plástico and telenovelas like El Secreto de Puente Viejo. They are aiming at markets in Latin America and Asia and at platforms like SVOD, considered the new clients in the industry that are seeking to include Spanish products in their offer. In an interview with PRODU, Diana Borbón, Sales Manager at Atresmedia Televisión, mentioned that in his quest for contents, multi-platform represents a fundamental topic, for “there are new players such as SVOD platforms, that are interested in our contents, they are our new client; they are a different exploitation system that does not affect consumption nor the audience of traditional TV”.In this sense, she mentioned that countries in Eastern Europe and Asia, which already have these platforms, have approached them to acquire their products, while in Latin America they have already placed contents in Chile and are in negotiations with territories like El Salvador. “In terms of contents, we are looking for stories that are exportable worldwide, because Spanish fiction is having a good moment and works in different parts of the world, that is why we are already exporting to Asia and are attentive to other markets like the US, which is also interested in contents from other countries that they can adapt”, she added. She ended highlighting Mar de Plástico as the novelty for international fairs; a series in thriller format whose main plot is a police investigation regarding the murder of a teenager.
