Azteca: We launched AZ Cinema with more than 800 titles from Mexican cinema for LatAm and soon the US

AZ TV de Paga, Azteca business unit, officially launched its new channel AZ Cinema, 100% to Mexican cinema, which is already distributed in seven countries in Latin America and will be launched in the US in June through the Dish platform.In the presence of artistic talent and executives like Fidela Navarro, director of AZ TV de Paga, Mario San Román, general director of Azteca, highlighted that this channel has been in preparation for eight years.“We managed to buy many of the films in perpetuity, they are more than 800. Today we package them in a new channel, which will not only have titles from the golden age of Mexican cinema from the 1940´s to the year 2000; we also want to add films that are made nowadays in the country, as well as become an exhibition window for cinema students with their projects”, commented the executive. Meanwhile, Navarro, assured that AZ Cinema is broadcasting since mid May and presents four debuts per day, “a lot of cycles, concepts and weekend analysis. Besides, we have a Barbachano archive with more than 1.500 hours of digitized information of all sorts. The channel is HD and complements our four channel portfolio, two of them completely renewed; and the first week of June we will also relaunch AZ Noticias”.AZ Cinema is in Mexico in TotalPlay; in Latin America it is available in countries such as Colombia, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Peru and Guatemala.
