The NATPE organization has had a 62-year history and its storied trade show has stood at the centre of the US content economy

Brunico Communications has made the decision to discontinue its US events portfolio in 2027, including NATPE Global, Realscreen Summit, and Kidscreen Summit.

“This decision was deeply considered and stemmed from the market consolidation that continues to progress and have structural impacts on the content production business,” says Russell Goldstein, President & CEO of Brunico Communications.

Moving forward, the company will focus on its full complement of publications including Realscreen, Kidscreen, Playback and Strategy as well as the Banff World Media Festival which will host its 47th edition on June 14-17, 2026.

Kidscreen and Realscreen are proceeding with their entire publishing mandates, covering daily news and providing essential analysis and business insights. Both Kidscreen Awards and Realscreen Awards will continue annually.

“The coverage and access that our brands provide are more vital than ever to the communities we serve. We believe that our leadership position will open new avenues for growth rooted in our mission to provide highly effective ways to facilitate business within our markets”, says Goldstein.

Realscreen and Kidscreen Summits have served as the heartbeat of the international unscripted and kids content communities for the past 30 years.

The NATPE organization itself has had a 62-year history and its storied trade show has stood at the centre of the US content economy.

With this news, Claire Macdonald, NATPE’s Executive Director and Jocelyn Christie, Kidscreen’s publisher, will both be leaving Brunico to pursue other opportunities.

“As the market evolves, Kidscreen and Realscreen will continue to provide a forum for thought leadership, benchmark best in class content, and deliver the dedicated daily intel needed to stay informed. We also look forward to developing more ways to connect our audiences with emerging opportunities, new partners and the innovation that will be essential for building businesses and navigating change in the evolving media, entertainment and content economy,” says Brunico’s Chief Content Officer, Mary Maddever.
