Three years ago, the Hollywood star agent, George Salinas; the Mexican actor, Jaime Aymerich and Carolina Vargas (executive producer) came together to create Crossover Entertainment. One of their goals is to bring formats that have been successful in Spanish to the Anglo Saxon market in the US.Salinas (CEO and founder) and Aymerich (President and co-founder) say the first format they have placed is La Hipocondríaca by Caracol TV and SPT on FOX US. They mentioned they are in the pilot-producing phase and that it still doesnt have a title. The intention is to make a first 13-episode, one hour each, season, but it all depends on the network. This project includes the actress Julie Bowen (Modern Family).Aymerich highlights that Crossover Entertainment has worked with outstanding personalities from the Hispanic world, such as Eugenio Derbez, Angélica María, Carolina del Rivero (writer of Jane the Virgin), among others. This company combines George´s experience in the anglo market with my knowledge of the Spanish-speaking market through my works in Televisa, TV Azteca, among others. We bring formats that are good stories for the market in English. The first was La Hipocondríaca, but there are around 11 series in studio and 2 more that have been sold to CBS and FOX: one from Mexico and another from Argentina. He cannot disclose any more details because they are in confidentiality stage. Carolina Vargas analyzes data and ratings for each story to determine how to approach the English-speaking market.
