Gustavo Sánchez Parra will star in the new Discovery docufiction

Under the direction of Carlos Bolado and produced by Patricia Arriaga, Discovery produces a docufiction on the entry of the Mexican ex-president Benito Juárez to Mexico City, 150 years after the end of the French intervention and will be launched in September this year, in the context of the celebration of the patriotic holidays.

“In Discovery we are committed with the generation of content that satisfies the curiosity of our audience. With this program, we want to offer an attractive vision of one of the most important feats in the history of Mexico and Latin America and tell this part of history, resorting to fiction storytelling that attracts the attention of the youngest audience, entertains adults and reminds us of the process of national resistance that Benito Juárez had to go through to reach a free country,” commented Miguel Cárdenas, general director of Discovery Networks Mexico.

Directed by Carlos Bolado, starring Gustavo Sánchez Parra as Benito Juárez and with the participation of Tiare Scanda, Luis Arrieta, Paola Arrioja and Marco Treviño, this production will recreate the four years, one month and fifteen days that Juárez governed Mexico. There are expert historians in the team who will narrate in interviews the most relevant passages of this period.
