In the 14th Annual Hispanic TV Summit in New York, Eric Turpin, general manager of HITN, gave details of the plans they have for 2017.

HITN will have four entirely functional studios (two on the ground floor that will be ready by mid 2017, and a two-level rooftop by the end of the same year). These studios will be available for Imagina US to use them with their clients, as part of the agreement between the two companies. “It is a perfect combination, Imagina US contributes its experience in production and we have the facilities,” he commented.

Additionally, the signal will increase its distribution, thanks to an agreement with Charter Communications, that is already in vigor and that will give HITN presence, throughout the next 18 to 24 months, in other markets in Los Angeles, Dallas and central Florida, “that is a huge market for us,” he said.

In 2017 they will develop their OTT strategy, which will be available through their current distributors. It will be a hybrid, a combination of content available for authorized clients and a form of premium service.

Turpin added that in the first quarter of 2017 they will offer the signal in HD and with a large amount of original content. “Each one of our programming series will also have a presenter who will talk about topics related with the program, if it is a program about health, he will cover health topics,” he explained

He ended mentioning they have a new web page that is ready to be launched.
