Jimmy Arteaga, programmer of Hemisphere Media Group, and President of Programming, Production, and Promotions at Puerto Rico´s WAPA TV, has accompanied the team of the new Colombian Canal 1 as an advisor and programming consultor.

Hemisphere is one of the partner companies of Canal 1, directed by Alan Sokol and Jim McNamara.

Regarding the programming of Canal 1, the executive commented that they are airing the greatest amount of local production they can. “We are obviously going to change the mornings, afternoons, and of course, prime time.”

One of the main offers will be information, because of the support Canal 1 has from two names that enjoy great credibility and respect in Colombia: Yamid Amat and Daniel Coronell. “We are going to start with news from 5:30am”.

They will also offer entertainment with their own programs in the morning. In the afternoon, general programming, and a reality called Guerreros (from Peru’s PROTV).

They have also produced a series with FOXTelecolombia, “which they have kept a secret. And they honor us producing for us the series Infieles (25×6)”, which they have made a version for para Colombia and an international one that will be distributed in Latin America and Europe.

The programming will also include a Turkish teleseries from Kanal D: “A product that was very successful with us in WAPA, that is Tormenta de Pasiones, and another Turkish one by Eccho Rights called The Brave and the Beautiful”.
