Juan Pablo Santos, VP of New Business Development at Imagina US

Juan Pablo Santos, VP of New Business Development at Imagina US mentioned to PRODU that the launch of Pasiones HD in Latin America has helped them expand their distribution in the region. Now four years after their launch in Latin America and the Hispanic market in the US, the network has reached nine million subscribers. “We’ve found a strategy for each market. Having HD in Latin America has been fundamental. In august there will be five major launches thanks to HD. The cable providers want an HD product, and there isn’t yet a channel for telenovelas in HD” Santos told PRODU. On August 7, Pasiones began transmissions of the famous novela El clon by TV Globo, which has been off the air for more than four years. “We’re launching El clon on multiple cable operators and creating the biggest campaign to date since the beginning of the network. We’re setting up this campaign very close to the people in order to announce who we are at Pasiones and the launch of Elclon. With respect to the Hispanic market of the U.S., Santos indicated that they expect a big distribution, and that in August they will be released on Comcast nationally. They’re also present among DTH (DISH and DIRECTV), Verizon and AT&T.
