Milagro En La Celda 7 Inter Medya

Inter Medya announced that the successful Turkish movie Miracle in Cell 7 has been licensed to be aired in US Hispanic and Puerto Rico.

The film was launched in movie theaters in Turkey in 2019 and was a blockbuster: 5.3 million viewers. It also continues breaking records in all the countries where it is shown.

Milagro en la Celda 7 has been sold for television in ten other international territories. In Mexico it was the leader of primetime with 19% share (3.1 million TV viewers); and in Chile, it was one of the most-watched films in Canal 13 by reaching 11.6%, the highest measuring since 2016. Additionally, it is available on Netflix, where it has reached the top 10 movies of the service in the US, Canada, Brazil, France, and other territories.

“We are happy and thrilled that the movie will reach Hispanics in the US and Puerto Rico. Milagro en la Celda 7 proves that Turkish feature films have a place among the international audience, following the steps of dramatic Turkish series. We hope to announce other agreements soon,” said the VP and Head of Sales and Acquisitions of Inter Medya, Beatriz Cea Okan.

The movie, directed by Mehmet Ada Öztekin, starring Aras Bulut Iynemli (El Sultán, Içerde), is an adaptation of the South Korean film A Gift From Room 7 (2013). It is set in the 1980 decade, during the coup d’etat in Turkey. It tells the story of a father with an intellectual disability —which makes him behave and think as a child— who lives with his six-year-old daughter and his grandmother. Their lives change when the man is mistakenly accused of murdering the daughter of a high-rank military.
