Nadie Sabe is part of the Corridos Rescue Corridos initiative

Singer-songwriter Ivonne Galaz, known as the first woman to perform corridos tumbados, in partnership with creative agency Casanova//McCann, DLuna Music, and Universal Music Publishing Group, presents the powerful corrido Nadie Sabe, a musical piece inspired by a reality many are unaware of: 40% of homeless youth in the United States identify as LGBTQ+, and 17% are Latino.

The song challenges conventions and reimagines the Mexican corrido as a tool for empathy, freedom, and truth, reclaiming the genre as a space of inclusion and a voice for those who have been rejected or marginalized for loving and living authentically.

“This song comes from the heartm, from thinking about all those who’ve been cast out of their homes, jobs, or families just for being who they are,” shares Galaz. “Because truly, nobody knows the pain that comes with that.”

With lyrics that are both vulnerable and empowering, “I no longer hide, I no longer lie”, Nadie Sabe explores themes of identity, resilience, and liberation. The track marks a defining moment for Galaz as she uses her platform to elevate voices often left unheard within the regional Mexican landscape.

Nadie Sabe is part of the Corridos Rescue Corridos initiative, an artistic movement led by Galaz that seeks to reclaim the power of corridos as instruments of empathy and social transformation. Through this project, she aims to raise awareness and funds for LGBTQ+ and 2TGI (Two-Spirit, Transgender, Gender-Expansive, and Intersex) youth, in collaboration with organizations such as The TransLatin@ Coalition (TLC) and The OC LGBTQ+ Center.

An important percentage proceeds from the single, including streams, views, and merchandise sales, will go directly toward programs oYering shelter, advocacy, and resources for LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness or displacement.

According to the National Conference of State Legislatures’ Youth Homelessness Overview (2025), an estimated 700,000 unaccompanied youth experience homelessness each year in the United States, with LGBTQ+ youth facing a 120% higher risk of homelessness after coming out to their families. With Nadie Sabe, Galaz and the Corridos Rescue Corridos initiative aim to give voice to these stories, connecting the legacy of corridos with the realities of those who’ve been “corridos” (cast out) from their homes, workplaces, or communities.

“Corridos have always told the stories of the people,” says Galaz. “Now it’s time they tell ours, those of us who simply want to live and love freely.”

With Nadie Sabe, Galaz is redefining the modern corrido, fusing traditional sounds with a message of freedom, love, and justice. The release serves as a prelude to a broader cultural initiative: the Corridos Rescue Corridos campaign, which will launch in November in honor of Transgender Awareness Month and Homeless Awareness Month.
