Jaime Bauzá promoted to the new position of SVP and general manager at Univision Puerto Rico

Univision Puerto Rico announced executive leadership and programming changes to Univision Canal 11. Respected Puerto Rico media executive Jaime Bauzá has been promoted to the new position of senior vice president and general manager, overseeing Univision Puerto Rico which includes Univision Canal 11; its second broadcast station in Puerto Rico, Tele Isla Canal 7; the Company’s radio properties WKAQ-580 (WKAQ-AM & WYEL-AM); KQ105 (WUKQ-FM) and (WUKW-FM) and Univision’s digital assets on the island. In addition, the roundtable discussion program Rubén & Co. expands to one-hour, Monday to Friday and moves to 5pm. Univision Puerto Rico also announced that Nelson Ruiz, executive producer for Univision Network, will be doing a request of proposals for programming created and produced in Puerto Rico to add to its offerings on Univision Canal 11 in 2015. “Jaime is a respected and accomplished media professional with a deep connection with Puerto Rico. His experience combined with his passion for our community and the Univision brand make him the right person for this new role, which will better align and deliver on the power of Univision’s local TV, Radio and Digital properties for our audiences and partners,” said Jaime Jiménez, executive vice president, Univision Local Media. “Working with a very talented team on the television and radio side, we are going to build on the 12-year legacy of serving our audiences, clients and partners by bringing together our teams to deliver the best content while also increasing our focus on the community. We are confident that by moving Rubén’s show, by inviting new local producers to explore opportunities with Univision Canal 11 and by leveraging the content and resources of Univision Network, we will bring new energy and ideas,” said Bauzá. Bauzá joined Univision’s radio team in 2008 and under his leadership the stations have delivered revenue and ratings growth.
