Jesica Stescobich, director of TV Licensing for Paramount Pictures in Mexico

Jesica Stescobich starts a new era at Paramount Pictures with the distribution in Latin America of the successful films of the studio and of Dreamworks for TV and digital. During a comprehensive interview with PRODU from her Mexico offices, Stescobich discussed her plans and the team she plans to build to grow in the region.Paramount Pictures decided to open an office in Mexico to serve Latin America and Brazil. The office will be run by Jesica Stescobich (formerly of Telefe and Comarex), as director of TV Licensing, directly reporting to Erica Adler, VP of TV Licensing for Latin America.“It’s a great challenge. The idea is to serve all of our clients from Mexico and the region, listen to them and be able to see them more often. We have a lot of work ahead of us,” told PRODU Stescobich from her Mexico City offices. “We have a huge supply, including our movie catalog, our yearly releases, and our immense library. We also have the DreamWorks catalog with animated movies, some from Spielberg, and films such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” she added. From this new headquarters, Stescobich’s team will handle the entire distribution catalog of Paramount for premium and basic pay-TV, SVOD and broadcast TV. The latter used to be handled by Ledafilms. “Now the strategy is to concentrate and handle everything from this office for all platforms, add new players and continue to expand in the region; even visiting clients regularly in their own countries,” said Stescobich. She emphasized the importance of the Brazilian market, where the company has Globo and premium cable channel Telecine as its main clients.Stescobich said she is already building a sales team based out of Mexico City with agency support from Los Angeles. She has already identified the person who will be her right hand: an industry outsider soon to be announced.
