Latin World Entertainment (LatinWE) kicked off a new production partnership with Electus. Its first project is Killer Women, a series based on the popular Argentinean format Mujeres asesinas, which will air in 2014 in the U.S. on English-language network ABC.“Electus has proven to be a leader in production, doing things others can’t. For LatinWE, the partnership represents a great opportunity for us to co-produce and create new content, and help our talent and our market develop more and have access to top-notch productions,” said Luis Balaguer, CEO of LatinWE.“This alliance is an important milestone for Electus in a growing market that is vital and that does not get the attention it deserves. LatinWE’s unique ability to connect with the Hispanic audience, combined with the Electus’ experience producing cutting-edge content, opens new doors for both companies. Sofía Vergara and Luis Balaguer are brilliant partners that know the market better than anyone,” said Ben Silverman, Founder and President of Electus.Electus and LatinWE had previously partnered for the launch of the YouTube original channel NuevOn.Killer Women, the first fruit of this partnership, already has eight episodes commissioned by ABC with Sofía Vergara as executive producer. The series tells the story of Molly Parker (Tricia Helfer), the only woman agent in the Texas Rangers Elite Team. She must investigate and solve crimes committed by women.
