Marián de la Fuente, journalist and producer with 16 years on the screen in the US, is to launch two new original programs on Vme: Desaparecidos and Mujeres con pantalones, both with support from the production company Plural. “Desaparecidos is a tool for Hispanics, because the number of missing persons in the US speaks for itself. What calls my attention most is that people always say, ‘I never thought it would happen to me’. This program shows how one should behave, what his or her rights are, why nothing happens when one goes to the authorities. Programs with characteristics like this should be on every kind of screen” de la Fuente said to PRODU. “Mujeres con pantalones shows the true sentiments of the Latina woman. It’s a type of praise to the women who work, and at the roots of their work, reach achievement. From Hillary Clinton, to Carolina Herrera and Shakira” she added. Three and a half years ago, De la Fuente created her own production company, Angels International. Both of these shows will be co-produced by Angels and Plural, the production house that has been deemed as one of the strongest in the Hispanic market. She assured that both programs will be of high quality, and that she’d maintain the commercial rights of the region.
