Meruelo Media renewed Angelica Vale’s contract for another 3 years

31 de enero de 2025

Angelica Vale will continue to lead the La Vale Show on Cali 93.9 Mornings

Angelica Vale, the Hollywood Walk of Fame star, radio personality, TV, film, theater entertainer, and community champion, has signed a contract extension to remain with Meruelo Media for another 3 years through December 31, 2028.

La Vale, as she’s affectionately known, began her career as a toddler, performing on stage in her native Mexico. With over three decades of experience in theater, television, radio, and film, Angelica has solidified herself as a leading figure in Latin entertainment. She rose to fame with her unforgettable role in La Fea Más Bella, Mexico’s version of Ugly Betty, and has continued to captivate audiences with her work in TV series, film, theater, and beyond. In recognition of her extraordinary career, Angelica was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — a testament to her lasting impact on the entertainment industry.

Under the terms of her extension, she will continue to lead the La Vale Show on Cali 93.9 Mornings and collaborate closely with Meruelo Media President & CEO (and hubby too) Otto Padron and Head of Audio Brands, Pio Ferro, on exciting new projects.

“Radio has been a key part of my career all my life,” said Vale. “It’s where I learned how to truly connect with people, and I love the unique way it allows me to connect with our listeners. Huge thanks to Alex Meruelo, Luis Armona, and the entire Meruelo Media family for their continued belief in me. And a special shout-out to my incredible on-air crew — the best team in radio — for making the La Vale Show such a blast on and off the mic, and, most importantly, for our amazing listeners.”

Luis Armona, Principal and Co-Founder of Meruelo Group — the “mother ship” of Meruelo Media — added: “It’s an honor to extend our relationship with Angie, one of the most iconic figures in Latin entertainment. Her impact on CALI 93.9 over the last five years has been key to our growth, and we’re thrilled to continue this partnership as we expand our reach even further.”

Pio Ferro, Head of Audio Brands, shared: “In times like these, we could all use a good laugh in the morning. And La Vale is the best at it. Angie’s creativity, humor, and talent are in a league of their own, and we’re thrilled to have her for years to come!”

Alongside her radio career, Angelica continues to be a force in entertainment. She’s starring in a new film with another Latina powerhouse, Rosalyn Sánchez, set to premiere soon, and is part of the production team for the Broadway upcoming hit Real Women Have Curves: The Musical, based on America Ferrera’s breakout role in the 2002 HBO film. She will also return as the host of Televisa-Univision’s primetime celebrity talent music competition, Juego de Voces, for its second season.

But it’s her love for radio that truly fuels her passion.

“Radio offers something that no other medium can,” La Vale shared. “There’s a unique intimacy in live radio that’s raw and unscripted, and that’s what makes it so special. The connection with the audience is immediate and real — it’s a bond that’s unmatched. Only theater comes close, but radio takes it even further. When I’m on air, it feels like I’m having a personal conversation with each listener, and that’s a feeling I can’t replicate anywhere else. It’s where I truly feel at home.”
