Maribel Ramos-Weiner| 26 de julio de 2016

Along with the production of their first fiction series, entirely shot in Mexico, Mexicanal is seeking new production areas, as well as to continue with the different sales created in the last few years. The upcoming productions include the third season of the reality series Son Mariachis, “a program that has been very successful in Mexicanal and everywhere it has been presented,” states Luis Torres, founder and president of Castalia Communications and president and CEO of Mexicanal.Additionally, they are producing new episodes of the documentary series Imágenes de México, to add to those they have already made. “We are also in the process of developing other realities. We continue to produce Jaripeos in the US and Mexico. We are increasing the number of production hours, which is currently 52 a year.He said that for the fiction series they are developing, they have hired scripwriters and a Mexican writer who will be in charge of the story. Torres highlighted that it is still unknown if this project will be produced for third parties or for Mexicanal. “We are very excited because it is very ambitious for a small channel like ours and requires a high production level in order to offer our audience the best, which is what we aim to do.” He announced that Mexicanal signed an alliance with Televisora Grupo Pacífico from Mazatlán para to broadcast baseball games in the Pacific League.
