NBC Universo announced the debut of Alphas (11×60′) next Wednesday August 19th at 10pm ET/PT. TV viewers who love science fiction can see this series right after Battlestar Galactica (35×60′).Alphas, which will be broadcast in Spanish for the first time in U.S., focuses on the lives of five ordinary people who are part of an extraordinary team of alfa beings: people with superhuman physical powers and mental capabilities. “Compelling sci-fi series capture the imagination of U.S. Latino viewers. With both a classic cult series in Battlestar Galactica, and now a supernatural crime drama in Alphas, NBC UNIVERSO is offering our viewers outstanding, back-to-back sci-fi entertainment options on Wednesday nights” said Bilai Joa Silar, SVP of Programming & Production at NBC UNIVERSO.Alphas stars David Strathairn as Dr. Lee Rosen as the preeminent psychiatrist and expert in Alpha phenomena; Ryan Cartwright as Gary Bell, an autistic man with a computer-like mind; Warren Christie as Cameron Hicks, a former Marine with amazing athletic capabilities; and Azita Ghanizada as Rachel Pirzad, who boasts super-enhanced senses.
