The Mexican chef Pati Jinich, host of the cooking program, Pati Mexican Table (13×30’) –that is aired in the US on PBS, and which already has six seasons and 75 episodes made— wishes to explore opportunities of producing her show, originally in Spanish for Latin America and US Hispanic. The sixth season was made entirely in Oaxaca, Mexico. The production Company is Frank Productions (New York).
“The Latino market and content in Spanish is 100% very close to me. I started in English in PBS, because it was an ideal match. However, I realize that my audience is both Hispanic and Anglo-Saxon. I am very interested in taking this content to Latin America and the Hispanic US and I want to make a version in Spanish. As time passes, I am more and more moved by the stories of Hispanics in the US,” she comments.
Ironically, Jinich started in a profession that had nothing to do with cooking: she used to be a political analyst.
Jinich was at MIPCOM presenting her program. Along with PBS, Pati Mexican Table is on Amazon Prime Video. In Canada, the program is on TeleLatino. In Australia on Food Network, in India on FOX Traveller, in Southeast Asia, on the Cooking Channel, and in Japan on TABI.
“Until now, I had been so focused on consolidating the series, that I couldn´t consider taking part in other projects. Now that it is more established, I can open the door to new opportunities that consider me as talent, expert personality in my field or judge,” she ended.
