Sergi Reitg of Sony Music: “Working On Several Projects About Rocío Dúrcal And An Alejandro Sanz Docuseries”

“We are now reaping the rewards of eight years of work in this division. And we are basically focused on finishing a documentary series on Alejandro Sanz,” said Sergi Reitg, Regional VP of Sony Music Vision Latin Iberia.

He added that they are also in full production on the fourth season of Acoustic Home for HBO in Spain, Portugal, and also in Latin America.

“We have several important projects, but perhaps the most noteworthy are those surrounding the figure of Rocío Dúrcal. There is a fiction film with an American production company, Altit Media Group. We already have the sales deck ready and a script, and we are just now starting the sales process.”

He added that at Iberseries & Platino Industria they formally announced an agreement they had been working on with Buendía Studios to develop both a documentary series about Rocío Dúrcal and a fiction series.

“Our timeline would likely be to start production of the documentary series and the film in 2026, and most likely the fiction series in 2027.”

Regarding Leo Messi, “we are fortunate to have a partnership through which we co-produced a 3D series called Messi and the Giants (30×30’). It is of the highest quality, with an extraordinary story written by the best screenwriters worldwide, and it will feature Sony Music’s catalog with 12 original songs by major global artists. The launch is scheduled for 2027 on Disney+.”
