Telemundo and Globo TV´s novela Fina Estampa set to start pre-production this summer in Miami

Telemundo and Globo TV International join forces once again to co-produce the adaptation of Globo’s original telenovela, Fina Estampa.The adaptation of Globo’s original story is scheduled to start pre-production in the summer of 2012 and it will be shot in Telemundo Studios in Miami. Telemundo Internacional and Globo TV International will share its international distribution.The novela by Aguinaldo Silva, introduces Griselda, a determined and hardworking woman who managed to raise three children on her own, taking on a job as a repairwoman, after her husband disappeared. Now, she lives with her children and grandson in a neighborhood where everyone knows her well. To the surprise of her friends and enemies, she becomes immensely rich overnight after winning the lottery. This twist of fate will give her life an unexpected turn that will change her future forever.Following the great success of The Clone, a title that was sold in more than 50 countries, the two companies, both leaders in the industry, are very excited about this new project. “This telenovela has all the necessary ingredients to captivate the U.S Hispanic market, as well as telenovela fans around the world,” said Marcos Santana, president of Telemundo Internacional.In Brazil, Fina Estampa achieved excellent ratings reaching an average of 68% share and attracting about 36 million viewers. The last episode obtained a peak of 77% share on Globo’s primetime. “We believe that with the creativity and effort of both companies, we will make an even greater version of Fina Estampa. We are very happy to be partnering once again with Telemundo on this second co-production” stated Raphael Correa Netto, Head of International Sales of Globo.
