The answer to COVID implemented by Telemundo Global Studios to resume production in Miami, encompassed different elements. “Reimagining the scenes, taking care of the creative aspect, but at the same time minimizing the risk of infection required a huge effort. We are thankful to our writers whom I called ‘my writing paramedics’. Sometimes they had to rewrite scenes the night before the shooting,” explained Juan Ponce, SVP Production and Strategy Operations Telemundo Global Studios.

He mentioned that they replaced studios and locations for others that were much more contained, in order to control who went in and out.

He explained that through technology in post-production -such as green screens- they shot scenes of people who had been exposed or infected and then with effects, they finished the scene. “Today when you see the scene, you would never imagine it is overlapped. We learned a great deal in the technological aspect,” he highlighted.

Ponce also spoke about recent productions, including Buscando a Frida produced in Argos Mexico. “It has high production values, in the dramatic aspect, there are secrets, intrigues, and shocking points. At the end of each episode, there is something that leaves you in suspense. Attention to detail was paid to each set like never before”.

Regarding La Suerte de Loli, he said it is very conducive for family co-viewing,” and expressed his admiration for Karen Barroeta, who had her debut as an executive producer with the project. “Production of studio content is not easy, especially with this crisis and she has done an honorable job. We are very proud of the whole team.”
