Telemundo Phoenix/KTAZ expands local news, strengthens its news team and adds meteorologist

Telemundo Phoenix/KTAZ will launch a new half-hour weekday newscast, Noticiero Telemundo Arizona a las 4pm, on Monday, September 26.
The new afternoon newscast will also be simulcast on Telemundo Tucson/KHRR. Co-anchored by KTAZ’s Paola Morales and Jimena González, the added newscast will feature newly named Multimedia Journalists Valeria Aponte and Arlety González. Both will make their on-air debut next week.
Additionally, Juan González has been named Weekend Meteorologist, effective immediately. González will make his on-air debut on Saturday, October 8.
“Our local news expansion provides us the opportunity to deliver our viewers greater in-depth local news and coverage, as well as more up-to-date weather forecasts, which is something that no other Spanish-language television station in Arizona can do.
