TVCortos, the first network in the region exclusively devoted to short films, announced the launch of the Best Latin American Short Film Festival 2019, aiming to discover talent throughout the region.

The network is committed to Latino filmmakers, seeking to increase artistic recognition within the Hollywood film community, as well as opening doors to possible television agreements and opportunities.

TVCortos is offering US$2,500 to five short films selected. The awarded films will be screened in Los Angeles for seven days and will immediately be considered for the Academy Awards. In turn, each of these short films will be a candidate for a possible television transmission agreement with TVCortos.

The submission requirements include the production of 40 minutes or less short film in Spanish, where the screenwriter, director or producer are from Latin America, and the short film should be delivered in HD or DCP formats.

The registration deadline will be Monday, December 31 and Monday, and on January 28, 2019, the five finalists will be announced. The winner will be announced on February 7, on TVCortos and throughout the network’s social networks. From Friday, 1st to Thursday, March 7, the selected films will be shown in Los Angeles, California.
