Univision and Pedro Torres to develop series based on the life of artist Luis Miguel

Univision has announced the development of a new series based on the life of iconic Latin American artist Luis Miguel known as El Sol de México.

The producer and entrepreneur Pedro Torres, who has been working closely with the singer over the last 30 years, creating with him his most iconic music videos, will serve as executive producer of the series with his company Curiosity Media.

“This is going to be an unforgettable series about one of the biggest artists of our time,” said Lourdes Diaz, president of Entertainment, Univision Communications Inc. “This series is part of our efforts to bring Univision’s young and loyal fan base a robust line-up of highly quality programs whether they be unscripted realities, gritty crime dramas or biopics, such as this series on the legendary Luis Miguel.”

Although the series does not have a premiere date or production start date yet, more information will be made available in the coming weeks.

“I am honored to work with Univision to bring to life the special, one-of-a-kind story of Luis Miguel’s musical career and his passion for life,” commented Torres.
