The Mobile Content Venture (MCV) and Univision Television Group announced this Tuesday that Univision will join the network of broadcasters deploying Dyle, the consumer-facing brand representing live mobile television, in the Los Angeles (KMEX) and Miami (WLTV) markets. MCV is a joint venture dedicated to facilitating a national mobile content service that delivers live television to mobile devices. Joining the more than 70 U.S. stations, including Pearl Mobile DTV (Belo Corp., Cox Media Group, E.W. Scripps Co., Gannett Broadcasting, Hearst Television Inc., Media General Inc., Meredith Corp., Post-Newsweek Stations Inc. and Raycom Media), as well as NBC, Telemundo, Fox, Bahakel, and ION Television, which have previously announced plans to enable their stations to transmit a mobile broadcast, Univision will enable Dyle registered users to watch Univision live mobile broadcasts in two of the leading Hispanic cities. Today, Univision stations in Los Angeles and Miami are among the top ranked stations in the market among Adults 18-34 and 18-49. In addition, Univision will be implementing standards-based conditional access and will be fully compatible with MCV’s Dyle application on mobile devices.“The addition of Univision stations reinforces the consumer appetite for live TV on mobile devices and ensures Dyle will reach a key Hispanic audience, who over-index in mobile content usage,” said Salil Dalvi and Erik Moreno, co-GM’s of MCV. “Our participation in MCV speaks to our commitment to make the most popular content for Hispanic Americans available to our audiences across platforms,” said Kevin Cuddihy, president of Univision Television Group.
