Pirata y Capitano
Vme Kids has scooped up Millimages’ animated series Pirata & Capitano (52×11’).
Following the adventures of Pirata as she helms her own ship, while her best friend, Capitano, flies a red seaplane, the series focuses on teamwork and friendship.
Doris Vogelmann, VP of Programming for Vme Media commented “we are always looking for new preschool educational programming that provides positive and traditional values that our families can trust. Pirata & Capitano promises to be a new favorite for our Vme Kids audience.”
“We trust Hispanic children will definitively enjoy Pirata & Capitano‘s adventures as they learn to cherish true friendship,” added Grace Lee, commercial director from Millimages.
The series is being touted as the first animated show to be fully produced in “Global Illumination,” a system that models how light bounces onto surfaces using technology developed by Dwarf Studios. (This form of indirect lighting is meant to give toons a more realistic and lifelike look.)
Co-produced by national public broadcasters France Televisions and Italy’s Rai, the series premieres on Vme Kids this July.
