Telemundo: This is our best year in ratings in our history

Telemundo´s prime time schedule of 7 to 11pm has grown 12% in audience with respect to last year and in July the gap in Adults 18-49 years of age with the channel´s nearest competitor -Univision- went down to 240,00 TV viewers.“Competition now is very even. Two years ago, the gap was around a million or so, but more than decreasing our difference with the competition, we are interested in growing our volume and that is happening. El Señor de los Cielos 3 is working very well. It is the number one program in Spanish and number 2 regardless of the language, only exceeded by NBC´s product in that schedule”, mentioned Luis Silberwasser, president of Telemundo, proudly to PRODU. He added that the debut of Bajo el Mismo Cielo, three weeks ago, was the best launch at 9pm in the last three years. “We have gone from being strong only at 10pm, to also being solid in the 9pm schedule. The strategy of Telemundo Studios working closer to the network is paying off”, he expressed.But the improvement is not only in prime time, Silberwasser feels enthusiastic about the daytime performance, in which the morning magazine Un Nuevo Día “has the best season, with 40% more in audience than last year”. A similar case is that of Al Rojo Vivo and Noticiero Telemundo. The latter is recording its best season on open broadcast TV in the US, regardless of the language.He also highlighted Premios Tu Mundo, presented on Thursday 20th. “This year there is more entertainment, with dramatized segments, a totally different opening”.
