Facebook Live is testing video ads inside live video broadcasts

Estas son las primeras publicidades que Facebook inserta en videos

Facebook began tests to incorporate video ads -in mid-roll format- during live video broadcasts of their content developers’ partners. “We’re running a small test where a group of publishers have the option to insert a short ad break in their Facebook Live videos” the company said in an e-mail. These are the first ads that Facebook serves directly inside videos. The social network has been making deals with web celebs and some publishers to start streaming. Facebook has always been reluctant to show pre-roll spots ads directly before videos, because CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he thinks that ruins the viewing experience. That’s why they decided to use this mid streaming format. For now, the ads will last up to 15 seconds. The company told advertisers that the video ads would be drawn from among promoted video campaigns already running on the social network, but some brands had opted out of having their ads appear during live broadcasts, because they don’t have control over where the commercial will show up. It’s expected that the company will develop content categories that will allow brands to choose the context in which they wish to insert themselves. Facebook Live broadcasts have already gone viral, from the recently police shootings setting off mass protests in the U.S., to the video of a woman trying on a Chewbacca mask while laughing like crazy, which reached 160 million views.
