National Geographic: Each country deserves to feel productions as their own

Carmen Larios, senior Programming and Production VP for National Geographic Latin America

The original Nat Geo production, Asombrosamente, made up of eight episodes, will be presented by the Colombian actor Sebastián Martínez.

“With our productions, we not only seek the highest quality, but also content with Latin American identity; each country deserves to feel as their own Nat Geo productions” assured Carmen Larios, senior Programming and Production VP for National Geographic Latin America.

Through entertaining experiences held in Bogota, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and Houston, combined with the latest research on neuroscience, Asombrosamente does research on topics as diverse as stress, memory, emotions, perception, differences between the sexes, food, el impact of social networks and new technologies.

The international network´s new project, to be launched in May, will be the Colombian version of this series that was nominated to the Emmy Awards in the category, ‘Non-English Language US Primetime Programs´.

In recent years, National Geographic has ventured into the Latin American market with original contents aimed at Colombian TV viewers, such as Las Mujeres de las Farc.
