Edward Sabin, executive managing director, International, at A+E Networks, will deliver a keynote address at the MIP Cancun Latin American TV Market in which he will share insight from his experience managing the international distribution and production businesses around the world.

Sabin co-heads A+E’s International business and manages all aspects of A+E’s rapidly developing activities in Latin America, Canada, and Asia/Pacific. In addition, he leads business operations and digital strategy for the group’s international channels globally.

The only dedicated TV content trade event for Latin America and US Hispanic audiences, the fourth MIP Cancun will be held from 15-17 November 2017 in a new venue, the Moon Palace Cancun meeting center in the Mexican resort city. With a record number of buyers signed up and leading broadcasters, producers, and sales companies attending from over 40 countries, the 2017 edition is set to be the complete TV industry event for the Latam region yet.

This year’s MIP Cancun features the inaugural Co-Production Matchmaking Market, a brand-new event to foster content development with the region’s leading players. The Co-Production Market will encompass 1 to 1 meetings and numerous 30-minutes with… sessions: these are strategic moments to receive programming and production briefs directly from senior executives of industry-leading companies. Among those participating are senior executives from Turner Latin America, US; Sony Pictures Television/Teleset, Mexico; America TV, Peru; RCN Television, Colombia; Gloob/Gloobinho, Brazil; Televisa, Mexico; TV Azteca, Mexico; Caracol, Colombia; and Ecuavisa, Ecuador.

The new Co-Production Matchmaking Market will run alongside the more established and highly successful 1-to-1 Distribution Market, which brings together an unparalleled range of regional broadcasters and international entertainment companies. Distributors already confirmed this year include more than 125 channels, with Televisa, Azteca, Globo, Caracol, TV Record, and Frecuencia Latina from Latin American; Warner Bros, Rive Gauche, Lionsgate, Shoreline, Miramax, Sonar, Paramount, Discovery, and Viacom among the US attendees; plus a strong French delegation including Arte, Mediatoon, Millimages, Federation, Lagardere, France TV, and Vivendi.

Furthermore, three MIP Cancun Premiere Screenings are so far confirmed for BBC Worldwide America, NBCUniversal International Distribution, and Globo. There will also be panels on a range of topics affecting the region’s TV sector.

“We are very excited about the rich line-up of conferences, keynotes, and screenings that are coming together for the fourth edition of MIP Cancun, and which has attracted a record number of leading TV industry players from across the Latam region and the US Hispanic market,” said Ted Baracos, MIP Cancun director.
