Domingo al Derbez de Cinelatino
Cinelatino has announced a special Father’s Day movie marathon celebration featuring one of Mexico’s most iconic families. The exclusive TV event, dubbed Domingo al Derbez, highlights the beloved Derbez family and honors its patriarch, Eugenio Derbez, and by extension, father figures everywhere. The special Father’s Day event will air Sunday, June 21 beginning at 7am ET /4am PT.
Hosted by oldest son Vadhir Derbez, the marathon will showcase an exciting mix of feel-good comedy hits featuring the Derbez family including, Macho, Ladrones, Qué Pena Tu Vida, Hazlo Como Hombre, 3 Idiotas, and A la Mala – a slate of films that boasts four of the top ten Spanish-language Mexican box office hits in the last five years.
“The current situation continues to impact the country—and the world—creating innumerable challenges, including, of course, limiting our ability to be with all those we love. Everyone is looking forward to the day we can once again throw open our doors and be fully reunited with friends and family. In the meantime, we know how integral family is to our Latino viewers and the important role that coming together and marking special events plays in their lives. We wanted to commemorate Father’s Day and provide our audiences with a safe, quality entertainment option that would allow multiple generations to come together, whether under one roof or many, and still feel a sense of unity in celebrating the father figures in their lives,” said James M. McNamara, vice chairman of Hemisphere Media Group, Cinelatino’s parent company.
