Sofía Martinenghi, International Distribution executive for Scripted TV at Reel One Entertainment in Canada, which serves Latin America and the US Hispanic, said that they manage a catalog of approximately 300 films and produce about 100 titles a year, being one of the biggest TV movie production companies in the world.
“We are doing thrillers, romantic comedies and Christmas movies that are now the most in demand. We also have a library catalog with more commercial films. This type of product, due to the amount of production we have, is favorable for volume deals, which is what customers request because they are looking for a renewal rate on their platform or on their television stations. This type of content is for the family, it invites co-viewing, it is very fresh, with nice argumentative lines, and with a more motivational, inspirational component. It applies to all types of outlet. We are already closing the Christmas catalog, which is moving a lot, buyers are already purchasing titles for July 2023,” Martinenghi commented.
