The premiere of the telenovela Hasta el Fin del Mundo (165×60’), a Televisa remake of the Argentinean story Dulce Amor, produced by Nicandro Díaz, captivated the Mexican audience, registering 24 rating points. In an interview with PRODU, screenwriter Kary Fajer said the telenovela comes at a good time with productions getting high ratings.“Telenovelas are going through an important moment and ratings prove it. We have exceptional carry-over boosting each production. The company and the market prefer proven products, and that’s not a bad thing. When we visited countries like Colombia in search of stories, we realized they also buy from countries like Argentina and adapt them, so this is a region-wide phenomenon,” said Fajer. She said Argentina is experiencing a production momentum, “it is even occupying the place Colombia had, where it would sell to Argentina, Mexico and Chile; but that’s how the creative process goes: Colombians have concentrated more on series about drug trafficking, which is a valiant subject to undertake.”Hasta El Fin del Mundo airs on Televisa’s Channel 2 at 9:20pm. It stars Pedro Fernández and Marjorie de Sousa.
